Do you hate Christmas carols? Are you tired of listening to the same damn songs every year? Don’t worry, we’ve created the perfect playlist for you (which may cause controversy at home). We get it: parents wanna listen to Bing Crosby but, after all these years… We think it’s our turn to be on the aux, isn’t it? Here you have a list with some of the best christmas songs for your holiday season.

1. Santa Baby – Wolf Alice

We get it, Santa Baby isn’t precisely the newest song out there but in Ellie’s voice, it sounds really good. The intimate atmosphere she created is perfect for a cozy evening.

2. Mistletoe – Caravn & Valentin

There’s nothing more comforting than creating a home with your long-time partner and growing up together.

3.- Wonderful Christmastime – The Shins

The original one is from Sir Paul Mccartney himself but The Shins made a very good rendition. We also have bad news for Mariah Carey. PlayNetwork, a company that creates playlists for more than 400 stores, announced in 2018 that this cover surpassed Mariah Carey’s in a ranking created by customers about their listening preferences for Xmas time. Sorry, Mariah!

4. Warm on a Christmas Night – HONNE

HONNE made a cover of one of their old songs released in 2014. The warm vocals and atmospheric instrumentals makes for a sound best enjoyed during this holidays.

5. Christmas Song – Phoebe Bridgers

If you are feeling sad and lonely this Christmas and you relate to the feeling of not having anything to do with the happy people out there, this might be for you.

6. Every Holiday – Mt. Joy

This is another christmas song for the ones that are not feeling the joy of Christmas.

7. This is life – The Lumineers ft Daniel Rodriguez

The Lumineers and Daniel Rodriguez show us that life has its ups and downs and that it could always be worse.

8. Christmas Time (Is Here Again) – Spoon

In the words of Britt Daniel:

“Recording “Christmas Time (Is Here Again)” was a group effort that pulled us away from rehearsals and quickly sent us down a turbulent path of what you might call the Christmas spirit. And it’s our song with the most band members doing vocals ever – pretty sure I’m counting four. THE WAR ON CHRISTMAS IS OVER.”

9. baby jesus is nobody’s baby now – Julia Jacklin

Julia tells us that some years won’t be perfect, that even when we can’t meet our family, we have to stay hopeful. This is a reminder that there will be better days.

10. Christmas Is Going To The Dogs – Eels

If you’re not feeling the Christmas spirit this year, “Christmas is Going to The Dogs” from The Grinch soundtrack might be the right choice for you.
