How has your music evolved since you first started as a band/singer?

When I first started making music as a teenager I was heavily influenced by dub and electronic music, and only sang with a vocoder, so the music I was creating was like sad robot jams (kinda like that Porter Robinson song ‘Sad Machine’ which I love) then when I started singing with my actual voice around age 19 my music became very folk and Elliot Smith influenced. Nowadays I like to have fun with the production and combining the singer-songwriter elements with the vibes, the beeps and boops.

 How do you find inspiration for your lyrics and melodies?

I find inspiration in everyday life but most of all in my imagination and the longing I feel inside – indescribable nostalgic feelings of how vast the world is and how we get to experience just a little sliver of it. All the fascinating, beautiful people out there living their lives. Just being human.

If your latest songwas a movie, what genre would it be and who would you cast in the lead roles?

It would just be Lost in Translation with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, and that movie has the best soundtrack.
