The band’s origin story involves an online connection, a surprising lack of kidnapping vibes (thanks, Jack), and, ironically, an actual kidnapping (sorry Ben). How did the band come together?

Jack and Alice met on a music website, Jack was the only man they’d spoken to who didn’t sound like they were going to kidnap her. Ben was kidnapped.

We’re pretty chill about it. Art is subjective, so if there’s no negative feedback, perhaps there’s not much going on.

We’d follow David Bowie around the UK clubs and local venues for all of 1971.

David Tennant. Alice first saw him in Doctor Who (2005), Jack first saw him in Casanova, and Ben hadn’t ever had a crush, so we showed him a picture of David Tennant, and now he gets it.

Choose the last question: What was your first job?

Alice’s first job was working as a photographer at the London Madame Tussauds. Ben’s first job was as a chorister, at £2.50 per service or £10 for a wedding. Jack’s first job was at a coal factory, putting coal in bags.
