We want to give a warm welcome to spring with the best indie songs of the season! We have listed a collection of the most chill and magical indie songs to make your spring sound perfect.
1. Good Days – SZA
We want to start this list with Good Days by SZA. Because spring is that time of the year when we blossom again. After the long winter, we are finally ready for new beginnings.
Tell me I’m not my fears, my limitations
I disappear, if you let me
Feeling like (on your own)
Feeling like Jericho
2. Get Down – Still Woozy
We want to welcome the spring fever with this song with lo-fi style production, subtle harmonies, and seductive lyrics. Still Woozy is always a must on our playlists 😎
3. favorite crime – Olivia Rodrigo
“Dan & I wrote “favorite crime” sometime last summer I think. I had “Know I loved you so bad I let you treat me like that” written in my notes app for a while & it sort of sparked the entire song. I really love how the song is one big metaphor. Figurative language was something I had to work on in my songwriting. I’m a very literal, specific writer & metaphors & similes aren’t often where my brain tends to go, so I’m super proud of this song”
4. Cherry – Harry Styles
“Cherry” is written about Harry Styles‘ ex-girlfriend Camille Rowe, following their break-up in July 2018, during a time when Harry was feeling “not great.” Her voice is even featured in the song, in a section of dialogue at the end of the track.
Don’t you call him “baby”
We’re not talking lately
Don’t you call him what you used to call me
5. Billie Bossa Nova – Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish surprised us with this sexy ballad that was inspired by bossa nova. Special mention to the outstanding Finneas’ production. The lyrics talk about a secret fling.
You better lock your phone
And look at me when you’re alone
Won’t take a lot to get you goin’
I’m sorry if it’s torture though
I know, I know
6. Eyes Blue Like The Atlantic Part 2 -Sista Prod (feat. Powfu, Alec Benjamin & Rxseboy)
We couldn’t think of a better song to listen to on a chill spring afternoon. Eyes Blue Like The Atlantic became popular on Tik Tok as a lo-fi hip hop beat and then the artists decided to make a second part with vocals on it, which resulted in a hit.
Eyes blue, like the Atlantic
And I’m going down, like the Titanic
Eyes blue, like the Atlantic
And I’m going down, go-going down
7. Mood Ring – Lorde
After a few years’ hiatus, Lorde finally came back with Mood Ring, one of the focus tracks of her new album “Solar Power”. The song is inspired by the pop music of the early ’00s.
“Mood Ring” is a song about trying to feel spiritually connected in our modern world and all of the little tools and systems that we all use to try and feel that. […] I thought “Mood Ring” was a really cool metaphor for the magical thinking that we all employ at times to feel well”
I can’t feel a thing
I keep looking at my mood ring
Tell me how I’m feeling
Floating away, floating away
8. Make U Go – Duckwrth
Duckwrth brings us the best of both worlds: groovy, sexy, and chill. Perfect for a day under the blankets and whatever comes up.
I’ma make you go (ooh)
And I make you go (ooh)
And I make you go (ooh)
I’ma make you go (ooh)
9. working – Tate McRae, Khalid
“I usually release a lot of songs that are pretty emotional but this one is just a straight summer bop. We had such a fun time creating this song”.
10. Passing Time – Kiko Mori, Gaya
Kiko Mori presents us this escapism anthem with soft bossa nova influences and a contemporary production style. The tune is about how comfortable dreaming feels like and how we sometimes wish we could stay there for longer.
Moonlight through my eyes
Take me where I belong
And let me know
What it’s like to be loved
