Another month, another indie/alternative playlist. These are the best indie tracks of October 2021 collected by Indiemono. Do you want to listen to the whole playlist? You can find it on Spotify and Apple Music.
1. Many Times – Dijon
Dijon managed to turn a song into an argument. The loud instrumental (that almost feels like a jam session) combined with the anger conveyed in his voice makes the difference between a simple song and a piece of art.
2. We Are The Youth- Jack River
Jack brings us a colorful sound, a catchy melody with an important political message, and an invitation to fight for a better world.
3.KEEP THE PACE- Dreamer Boy
The bassline accompanied with saturated vocals and the instrumental’s eclectic style between rock and UK garage creates a really unique and kinda psychedelic sound.
4. I don’t want to talk- WALLOWS
“‘I Don’t Want to Talk’ is ultimately a song about insecurities,” Dylan Minnette said in a statement. “Not only in yourself but in this case, particularly in a relationship. It centers around the fear of being away from someone for too long and that ultimately allowing the other person’s head to be turned by someone else, and instead of expressing those fears, completely shutting down and not wanting to talk about it at all.”
5. Scab Song- Dora Jar
The song is about a scab, yes. The topic of the song is quite unique but the production is also crazy. Dora has a great future ahead, her unique expression through music makes her one of the most original musicians of Gen-Z.
6. Feel Good-Mondo Cozmo
A riot of instruments, fresh sound, and a catchy chorus. Mondo Cozmo is trying to make us feel good through the crazies indie-rock and he clearly did.
7. Wet Dream- Wet Leg
‘Wet Dream’ is a breakup song,” Rhian Teasdale explained in a statement. “It came about when one of my ex’s went through a stage of texting me after we’d broken up telling me that ‘he had a dream about me.’”
8. U&Me- Alt-J
They are back! Yes! Alt-J are here again after a quite long hiatus. Coming back to the simplicity that made them known.
“It’s about being at a festival with your best friends, having a good time, togetherness, and the feeling in life that nothing could be any better than it is right now,” Gus explained of ‘U&ME’.
9. guard down-beaux
beaux brings us a new take on bedroom pop, blending it with some elements of pop-punk. The upbeat track talks about past mistakes and how we could have acted differently if we only knew a better way back then.
10. Extra Life- Abhi The Nomad
A super catchy tune that mixes elements of funky, hip hop, and indie pop. We’re gonna need an extra life to keep listening to all the Abhi The Nomad upcoming hits.
This is just the top 10. Do you want to hear the rest?
