Today, we’ve had the pleasure of stepping into the mind of Anthony Lazaro, a musician whose sound he describes as “frothy, like a morning coffee.” From unforgettable career “firsts” to his hidden talents and favorite movies, get ready to adore him even more.

What has been the most memorable moment in your musical career so far?

The first release, the first editorial placement, the first TV placement, the first sold-out live show … the “first of” everything is always special!

Can you recall the first song you ever wrote or performed?

I wrote my first song 10 minutes after my first guitar lesson: cowboy chords and made-up words. Luckily I have never released it!

You’ve sung in many languages and collaborated with artists from around the world. What do you find most challenging and exciting about these collaborations? Also, what’s the most difficult language you’ve ever sung in?

I love learning new languages and traveling, so singing in a language other than English becomes part of this discovery process. This process also includes discovering great artists to collaborate with around the world!

Singing in Chinese was hard, but I could pull it off with some help. Hindi was probably the most difficult language I’ve sung in!

I started only 5 years ago, but I’ve seen a lot of small and big changes in the promotional environment, not to mention the big rifts with the Covid years.

Can you share a quirky or interesting talent or skill that your fans might not know about you?

I’m a movie buff, crazy about art and pop movies from all decades. I love traveling, I speak 3 languages and a half and, as a true Italian, I find it quite relaxing to spend the final part of the afternoon cooking!

You’ll be touring Europe soon. How do you imagine this experience? How do you balance songwriting, performing concerts, and finding free time for yourself during such tours?

One thing I don’t love about touring too fast, too many cities in a short period, is that you don’t get to visit the cities you are playing in. I understand the economics behind that well, but in my specific case, I want to discover the cities I’m touring. That’s why I try to leave some space between the different shows.

For example, at the end of June, I’ll play in Madrid and stay in town for 3 days to discover this beautiful city!

What is the most embarrassing thing that you’ve ever done?

I was sleepwalking out of my house and on the street in only my underwear.

The smartest thing you’ve ever done.

I am leaving my day job and starting to make music full-time!
