“Sin City” by The Black Keys
“Numb” by Alex The Astronaut
In contrast to the fiery energy of The Black Keys, “Numb” by Alex The Astronaut brings a more introspective and emotional tone to the playlist. With its hauntingly beautiful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, this track perfectly captures the feeling of emotional overwhelm and the search for clarity:
I didn’t know what numb was
I was trying to be fine
Looking at my hands
I trapped it all inside
Alex The Astronaut’s vocals feel raw and vulnerable, drawing you into the emotional depth of the song, while the understated indie-pop production lets the lyrics shine through.
“Numb” is a delicate balance of melancholy and hope—an anthem for those moments when everything feels a bit too much, yet you still find yourself reaching for something more.
It’s the kind of track that resonates long after it ends, making it a perfect fit for the reflective side of our December playlist.
“Under the Rug” by Arcy Drive
“Under the Rug” by Arcy Drive brings a vibrant, indie rock energy to our December playlist, combining breezy melodies with subtle, introspective lyrics:
All that I need is never enough
Old adolescence, never enough
Today we are free, drunk or in love
Tomorrow a stranger under the rug
The dynamic instrumentation—rich in jangly guitars and warm, layered vocals—creates a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh. There’s an effortless, laid-back quality to the song that makes it feel like an anthem to cherish the present. Especially now that the year has almost come to an end.
With its catchy hooks and introspective vibe, “Under the Rug” offers the perfect mix of heart and groove, light and depth as 2024 comes to an end.
“Shotgun” by TAPE TOY
“Shotgun” by TAPE TOY injects a burst of indie energy into the playlist with its infectious mix of fuzzy guitars and high-octane rhythm. From the very first note, the track pulls you in with its raw, unfiltered sound—a perfect blend of garage rock and alt-pop sensibility.
The lyrics, brimming with youthful rebellion and a sense of adventure, paint a picture of carefree road trips and the thrill of living in the moment. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to roll the windows down, crank up the volume, and drive into the unknown:
All dressed up for the evening
Promised to be cute
Halfway, shoulders up to the ceiling
Feeling that wasn’t what we agreed on
As a standout track in the December playlist, it offers a perfect contrast to the season’s quieter, more introspective moments, reminding us that there’s always room for spontaneity and fun—even as the year winds down.
“Animal” by BENEE
“Animal” by BENEE is a vibrant and playful track that adds a burst of energy to our December playlist. Known for her quirky style and genre-blending approach, BENEE delivers a song that’s both infectious and introspective, wrapped in a cool, electro-pop package.
The track’s upbeat rhythm and catchy chorus give it an almost whimsical quality, while the lyrics explore the more primal, instinctive sides of human nature—desire, restlessness, and the need to break free:
Wake up, line up, can’t stop
Too much pressure, might get squashed (squashed)
Think I’m special but I’m not
The grind, get mine, I’m trying
In this tunnel, I get lost
‘Cause I’m tiny like a dog
BENEE’s unique voice, paired with the track’s bouncy, bass-driven production, creates a sound that feels both modern and experimental.
“Animal” is a perfect addition to our playlist for those days when you want to shake off the winter chill with something fun and fresh.
“Kissing Tree” by Beatific
“Kissing Tree” by Beatific is a stunning example of indie dream-pop at its finest. The song floats effortlessly between ethereal soundscapes and shimmering melodies, creating a mood that’s both introspective and uplifting.
With its lush instrumentation and soft, echoing vocals, this new indie alternative feels like a wistful daydream. Lyrically, it evokes themes of love, longing, and the kind of quiet, nostalgic moments that make life feel magical:
It’s time for school
You bring the flowers
Makes me feel cool
Magical powers, la la la
Perfectly placed in our December playlist, “Kissing Tree” brings a sense of calm and beauty, offering a gentle escape into a world of soft sounds and tender feelings. Ideal for those moments when you need to slow down and just breathe.

Hello,
As an upcoming artist I am reaching out to you to announce my new single “No sound but the wind”. It’s quite possible that the title rings a bell. I am of course not the first who sings this particular song but, don’t let that stop you from listening to my version of this wonderful tune.
The 20th of December is the release date, and there is a reason for this. I want to take the time, right before Christmas, to reflect and think about all those people in the world who can’t just celebrate a holiday because of the difficulties in their life. I’m sure you can sympathise with the feeling.
This one song will be a different one in between all the other Christmas songs. I hope it can make people think again and light a spark of love in the world instead of the sparks of hate and war that we so often see nowadays.
I hope you will be so kind as to listen to the song and give this release some attention on your platform.
Here you can find the links to the song and the artwork.
I will be grateful for any support you might lend me and if you have any further questions, I’ll be more than glad to answer them.
Warm regards, Juan
