Hot on the heels of their announcement for their most ambitious headline tour yet “How The Fark Are Ya!” Old Mervs brings this vibrant, high-energy anthem. Chris Collins -who has also worked with Matt Corby, Royel Otis, and Alex Lahey- as the producer, and an irresistible hook, breezy guitars, and upbeat drums as the sonic essence.

Drummer Henry Carrington-Jones shares insights into the video production, “We ended up looking for cool locations for inspiration, as opposed to having a video idea first. It’s funny but pretty standard process for us. We then came across an abandoned plane yard and were quickly inspired.”

“I Got Cracked” by Vundabar

To celebrate the announcement, the band dropped this single on June 25. Alongside it, they’ve also released a captivating music video directed by Christopher Phelps and produced by Timothy Oakley, with both handling the editing:

The song and video were inspired by vocalist and guitarist Brandon Hagen’s tough six-week period; this challenging time is humorously reflected in the video’s playful depiction of various injuries, adding a unique twist to the visual storytelling:

But it’s not just about the injuries…In his own words, “In a six-week window that I could only describe as a careening crash landing, a long-term relationship of mine imploded, my dad died, and I broke my arm in a hotel while on tour in Europe[…]One week after that I was at his funeral and the one after that I was recording this song in Los Angeles.” (Stereogum)

“Gary” by Blossoms

This new indie track is as catchy as it is fun. This indie pop band is based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, and started making music in 2013. And, we agree, they have a talent for creating songs that stick in your head.

You’re by the pool and suddenly “Gary” comes on; you’re now in a world of catchy guitar riffs, bright synth lines, and Tom Ogden’s distinctive vocals. It’s easy, this mix of indie rock and pop is as appealing as a free doughnut on a Monday:

It seemed to be well planned from the footage they have

But they can’t see who actually took him

“tears” by hard life

Formerly known as Easy Life, the Leicester band hits back with “Tears.” (Pun definitely intended). Now with two albums under its belt – life’s a beach (2021) and MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE…(2022) – they start a new era, following an unexpected legal challenge from easyGroup who forced them to change their name. Yup, life’s most definitely a beach.

Murray Matravers claims that the “naive optimism we had in Easy Life has been swapped for something more raw and, I suppose, authentic. Sitting with my thoughts and going backward and forwards with IP lawyers, I wrote ‘Tears’. It highlights the absurdity of the situation as well as thanking the people who have had my back throughout this whole ordeal.” (DORK Magazine)

“SPEND SOME TIME” by Monjola

This is a vibrant track from the talented Irish artist known for his smooth blend of R&B, hip-hop, and pop influences. Monjola has been making waves in the music scene with his unique sound and relatable lyrics:
